I’ve always been drawn to the quiet beauty hidden in ordinary moments.
I grew up between mining towns in Gauteng and the Northern Cape, with a brief but life-shaping season at boarding school in Stellenbosch. Walking beneath oak-lined streets to art classes at the PJ Olivier Art Centre sparked a lifelong appreciation for mountains, oceans, heritage buildings, handmade objects, colour and the slower, more reflective rhythm of the Cape.
Today I paint from my home in Kommetjie, Cape Town, where the changing light, familiar rooms, treasured objects and surrounding landscape continue to inspire my work.
Through colour, light and texture, I explore warmth, memory and the feeling of home.
Over the years, I explored creativity in many different forms, but it was through self-discovery, mindfulness and a daily yogic practice that I found my way back to painting.
Those experiences taught me to slow down, trust my own rhythm and see the world a little differently.
My hope is that my paintings invite others to do the same — to pause, look again, and notice the beauty that has been there all along.
